The south of the Costa Blanca is one of the most sought after destinations for photography lovers due to the clarity of its light and its great variety of scenarios, with sea, industrial salt mines, pine forests, almost virgin coves or cliffs within a radius of less than 20 kilometers from our campsite.
If you stay at Lo Monte Camping & Resort, you have at your fingertips the most photogenic corners of Alicante, such as the palm oasis of Cala Ferris, the trails of the Aguamarina Cliffs or the panoramic views from the Torre Vigía de Cabo Roig.
An accessible route, perfect for combining the peace of the campsite with postcard landscapes.

Why is the southern Costa Blanca perfect for photography?
Because of the good weather (average temperatures of 18 °C and 19 °C help a lot) and, above all, because of the light, which in this stretch of the Alicante coast has a particular quality, with sunrises that come in softly from the Mediterranean and sunsets tinged with orange almost all year round.
In addition to this, there is an unusual variety of landscapes near the sea: in less than 20 minutes you can go from a volcanic rock cove to pink salt flats, or from a palm tree lined promenade to a path among protected flora.
In addition, the N-332 connects many photogenic points in the south of Alicante with comfort and, although in summer the AP-7 helps to avoid the traffic of the coast, if you have a little time the route along this road is worth it.

Photogenic corners of Alicante very close to our facilities.
Lo Monte is a quiet campsite near the sea and strategically located to go out every day to explore the southern Costa Blanca or to photograph a different place.
We propose the route and you decide the order and pace.
Cala Ferris: a hidden oasis in Torrevieja (15 minutes from Camping Lo Monte)

Among the best coves to take pictures in Torrevieja, Cala Ferris occupies a prominent place for its natural palm trees and turquoise waters.
This place does not look like the Costa Blanca, as the palm trees grow directly on dark rocky soil, with no sand in between, as if someone had planted a fragment of another climate in the middle of the Mediterranean.
The best place to watch the sunset at Cala Ferris is the rocky end on the right side. We recommend you to stand there when the sun sets over the water and the silhouettes of the palm trees are silhouetted against the sky. You will get a perfect framing without too much technique, because the environment makes everything easy.
In addition, photographers who visit us usually agree: if you arrive half an hour before sunset, you have enough time to find this position without rushing.
Cala Ferris is one of the instagrammable places with more likes.

Playa de las Higuericas: the cleanest sunrise on the Costa Blanca (practically next to Camping Lo Monte).
There are beaches that shout and beaches that whisper, and Las Higuericas is part of the second group.
No beach bars, crowded umbrellas or visual noise, here the protagonists are the horizon, the sea and the open sky, key for minimalist and long exposure photographs.
Early in the morning there is a particular calm in this part of the coast, and the low tide leaves the sand wet and reflects the first lights on it, forming a unique spectacle.
The advantage of staying at Camping Lo Monte is that we are practically next to this beach, so getting up early will not be a problem.

Mil Palmeras promenade: steps at Mediterranean rhythm (Less than 10 minutes from Camping Lo Monte)
The Paseo de Mil Palmeras is a more urban space, where architecture, vegetation and sea form a balanced tandem for walking and exercise.
The particularity of this walk is its scale: the trunks are tall, very straight and, when the light enters laterally between them, it creates the vision of columns and shadows that are repeated.
The most beautiful time of day to visit is at sunset, when the golden light creates a hypnotic sequence among the trunks.

Route of the Aguamarina Cliffs: trails overlooking the sea (15 minutes from Camping Lo Monte).
The Aguamarina Cliffs trail connects fossil coves and flora micro-reserves overlooking the Mediterranean.
It is one of the most Instagrammable trails in the area, and also one of the most authentic: few people, protected vegetation and the feeling of being in a wild coastline that has not yet been domesticated by man.
The most photogenic points of the route are the natural viewpoints over the sea, especially at mid-morning.
In fact, the clients of Camping Lo Monte who walk the trail at that time, agree that the second viewpoint, past the pine forest, offers a clean, perfect framing, which does not need filters.

Cabo Roig Lighthouse: the photo that sums it all up (15 minutes from Camping Lo Monte)
The viewpoint of Cabo Roig is one of the most popular places near Pilar de la Horadada.
To get there, take the N-332 from our campsite heading north and stop next to the watchtower to get the best view of the bay of Torrevieja.
There is a reason why this image appears in many Costa Blanca travel guides: the horizon line curves southward in an almost geometric way, and the tower crowns it under the orange sky.
If you want this iconic photo, visit it at sunset: it’s one of those shots that justify bringing the camera on your vacation.

La Pedrera reservoir and Sierra Escalona: a surprising hinterland (20-25 minutes from Camping Lo Monte)
The interior of Alicante also holds secrets and, in the south of the Costa Blanca, the best examples are the La Pedrera reservoir and the Sierra Escalona.

Both offer pine forests and natural viewpoints and, between January and February, the flowering of the almond trees.
These are not picture postcard pitches as in the interior of Alicante or Murcia, but scattered pitches integrated into the dry landscape, but with a simple beauty that is appreciated when you have been looking at the sea for a few days and want a more intimate destination away from the coast.

Where to stay to visit the most beautiful corners of the southern Costa Blanca?
Camping LoMonte is the base from which to plan photographic routes and other activities during your vacations in the south of Alicante.
Its location puts all these enclaves between 15 and 25 minutes from the N-332, which means you can get up early for sunrise in Las Higuericas, return to have lunch in your pitch or cabin with all the comforts and have the afternoon free to visit the cliffs of Aguamarina or watch the sunset in Cabo Roig. All this without rushing and without making extra kilometers.
Lo Monte is in a really quiet environment, something that on the coast is not always easy to find in high season, and its facilities and services include restaurant, sports courts, wellness area, massage service or pitches with electricity, running water and artificial shade so that people who visit us in motorhome or caravan are really comfortable, at any time of the year. In addition, Lo Monte is an accessible campsite of national and international reference, one of the first campsites adapted for people with reduced mobility and for deaf people.
In short: Camping Lo Monte isthe type of accommodation that makes travel easier for everyone.
